(PortuguĂŞs no fim)
So Queenstown…I must confess I was prepared not to like it. Crazy sports capital of NZ, most expensive city in NZ, etc etc. But did we love it! This city has a great atmosphere! It’s called the radical sports capital and as soon as you arrive you can tell…
We got there and it was raining a lot, so we decided to book the campsite for 2 days hoping the weather would get better and it did! We arrived at the end of the day so we just settled in and did nothing, it was so cold we froze during the night. We were never that cold in our lives! The heater of the motorhome is crap and it was -3 degrees outside. We’ve put all our clothes to sleep and we still froze, so it was not a very good night sleep. When we woke up the sun was shining and it was actually warm. When people say that you can have all the seasons in one day in New Zealand they know what they’re talking about! We walked around the city and stopped for lunch at Fergburger, the best burgers ever. They were huge and the place was packed!!! We looked around to see what we could do with the kids, the shark boat looked exciting but they were closed for the day (Francisco was really disappointed). We had planned to go to the Skyline the day after but the sun was shinning so we decided to run there. That’s something you need to do if you ever goo to Queenstown… The Luge! You go up the skyline, take the “teleskis” up the mountain with your helmet on and “rolling karts” hanging bellow. Once you get up there you can go down the mountain on one of two tracks, a beginner and a more exciting one. Good old fashioned fun with incredibly nice views of the lakes and the city. Early dinner and off to bed. The next day we were on the road quite early and our first stop was at AJ Hackett Bungy, the home of bunny jumping. No, we didn’t jump but while we were there an indian family came up and all of them (from 3 different generations) jumped… crazy people! After a while of watching it you kind of feel like doing it too…
The cutest dump point ever...
