Casual Friday = Lander Pants!

January 26, 2018

(Português no fim)

Hi! Friday it's finally here... It was a busy week around here! I got nothing done, I've been entertaining family that came to visit!
I've been wanting to make some jeans for me for a long time but wasn't sure about the pattern until I saw the Lander Pants (by True Bias), it was the "shape" I was looking for and it appeared to be not so complicated to sew... Bang! Perfect fit and a breeze to make!
I'm thin but my waist is big, meaning that my hips are the same size as my waist. When something falls at the waist I always choose the size according to waist measurements. I'm not a muslim person so I decided to make some shorts to test the size and make the pants after (if I screw up I waist less fabric on the shorts than on the pants). The result, it was way to big! I've ended up making the pants 2 sizes smaller (they sit at the hips not at the waist, strange right? All the pictures I've seen they look like they sit at the waist...). Size and waist/hip sit was not my only problem, the waist band pattern piece was too small, I'm sure I've made something wrong but found the same problem on both sizes I've made, I just added a couple of cm to it and all solved! Also, next time I have to add some cm to the bottom, they were a little short.
The Lander Pants are the best pants I have in my closet, it's a wash and use all the time king of relationship LOL
Here are the shorts (made exactly according to the pattern and instructions)
And the pants... You know me by now, you know about my little problem of having to hack every single pattern LOL. I've omitted the front buttons, except the top one and used snaps. I prefer hidden closures for pants.

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND EVERYONE!!!

Ola! Finalmente Sexta-Feira...

  1. These look AWESOME on you! I was secretly hoping you would be making these trousers, as we are approximately the same height (I wouldn't flatter myself to say "size", haha don't worry). I love the hack you did - the clean front is so nice! And I'm totally with you on having to make muslins. ;)

  2. I used to be with you on making muslins, but I am trying to get used to them. I have so much crap fabric anyway hahaha The pants turned out to be super! Love the concealed buttons! I am still too chicken to sew the pants... maybe One day!

  4. My spouse and i got delighted when Emmanuel managed to deal with his preliminary research while using the ideas he came across through the web page. It's not at all simplistic to just always be giving for free helpful hints which people might have been trying to sell. So we see we have got you to give thanks to because of that. The specific illustrations you've made, the straightforward web site navigation, the friendships your site help to instill - it's mostly exceptional, and it's letting our son in addition to the family consider that this article is fun, which is certainly pretty pressing. Many thanks for all! bag
